Man Wants to Become Superman, Then God: Mohan Bhagwat; Congress Takes Dig at PM Modi

New Delhi: Men want to become “superman”, then “devta”, “bhagwan” and even aspire for “vishwaroop” (omnipresent), said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Speaking at a village-level workers’ meeting, organised by a non-profit organisation called Vikas Bharti, run by RSS member Ashok Bhagat in Gumla in Jharkhand, the RSS chief said that people should work for the welfare of mankind since there is no end to the pursuit of development.

Mohan Bhagwat said, “There is no end to progress. People want to become superman, but they don’t stop there. Then they want to become ‘devta’, and then ‘bhagwan’. But ‘bhagwan’ says he is a ‘vishwaroop’. Nobody knows whether there is anything bigger than that”.

He further said, “A ‘karyakarta’ (worker) should think that he has done a lot, but still, a lot is pending because there is always scope to do more. The solution will only come if the development is done continuously,”.

Bhagwat added that he was never worried about the country’s future as many people were working collectively for its betterment, which would eventually show results but a worker should always keep in mind that even after a lot has been done, there is always scope for more.

The Congress has reacted the RSS chief’s remarks to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent remarks that he was non-biological and convinced that he was sent by god.

Senior Congress leader and general-secretary (communications) Jairam Ramesh said, “I am sure the self-anointed non-biological PM has got news of this latest Agni Missile fired by Nagpur from Jharkhand and aimed at Lok Kalyan Marg.”

The Congress MP has referred to the Prime Minister’s television interview during the Lok Sabha election campaign.

In the interview, Modi had said, “When my mother was alive, I used to believe that I was born biologically. Once she passed, upon reflecting on all my experiences, I was convinced that God has sent me to Earth. This energy could not be from my biological body but was bestowed upon me by God…whenever I do anything, I believe God is guiding me.”
