Malkangiri: Odisha Police has busted a Maoist hideout in Malkangiri district and seized huge amount of explosives during the special operation.
Based on reliable intelligence input about the gathering of armed cadres of CPI Maoist for carrying out sub-versive activities, a searching and area domination operation was launched by Odisha police teams comprising of teams of SOG, DVF Malkangiri and BSF, in Tulsi Pahad area.
During the wee hours of October 15 , when operational parties were combing the jungle near Daldali village, unprovoked firing was started by the Maoists. The forces retaliated with counter fire in self defence, the police said.
During the operation, a huge cache of detonators, explosives, Maoist kits, uniform, and other incriminating articles have been seized. However, the Maoists managed to escape the area taking the benefit of jungle and hilly terrain.
