Martyred Odia Jawans Laid To Rest With State Honours

Bhubaneswar: Two martyred Odia Jawans, Chandrakant Pradhan and Nuduram Soren, who laid down their life in a violent face off with People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China at Galwan velly were laid to rest with full state and military honours at their respective native villages at Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj district today.

Amid chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’, Jai Jawan their mortal remain were consigned to flames and last rites of both the Jawans were performed.

Earlier in the day, the solders were given 21-gun salute and taken out in procession. Large number of people were seen sloganeering ‘Amar Rahe’ in their names holding the national flags.

Yesterday Governor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid their last last respect to the mortal remains of the two jawans.
