Mayurbhanj: Govt Officials Protest Union Minister’s Assault With Black Batches

Baripada: All the government officials of Mayurbhanj are observing a three-day protest by wearing black batches to condemn Union Minister Bishweswar Tudu’s assault on two government officials. The protesting government officials are demanding action against the Union Minister and proper security to them.

Earlier, a case was filled by the Mayurbhanj OAS Association at the Town Police station against Union Minister Bishweswar Tudu on the allegations of assaulting two Odisha Government officials while on duty.

The Minister is said to have thrashed the two officials after calling them for a review meeting at his party office in Baripada. While one of the officials has been shifted to Cuttack for operation of his hand that was broken after the assault, another official was admitted to the Baripada Medical.

The Biju Janata Dal has condemned the incident and demanded action against the Union Minister. Senior BJD leader and Odisha Revenue Minister Sudam Marndi has demanded that Tudu be dismissed immediately from his post for the shameful act. He has also warned that, if proper action is not taken against the Union Minister, the BJD would take to the streets.
