Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an alert to four eastern states of Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar on possible surge in Maoist activities in the next fifteen days. The alert is based on the intelligence inputs received regarding a possibility of a sudden surge in the activities of the Maoists.
The alert was sounded by the MHA officials during the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eastern Zonal Council held at Kolkata yesterday. Senior officials of the eastern states including chief secretaries and home secretaries and MHA officials attended the meeting held at the West Bengal Secretariat.
