Minor Rape Case: OTV MD Jagi Panda Absent during Hearing by OSCW, Fresh Summon Likely

Bhubaneswar: The managing director of OTV, Jagi Mangat Panda today appeared before the Odisha State Commission for Women (OSCW) here in city in connection with alleged minor rape case. She however was not present during the hearing, said Minati Behera, Chairperson of the OSCW.

The hearing could not be possible as the opposite party (MD, OTV in this case ) was not present during the hearing. She came to the Commission office today morning but left before commencement of hearing citing having other works, Behera added.

‘We wil issue a fresh summon to Jagi Panda through DCP, Bhubaneswar”, she further added.

Earlier, the Commission had issued a notice to the managing director of OTV, Jagi Mangat Panda in connection with the alleged gang rape of a minor girl in infocity area in Bhubaneswar on September 14.

The Commission has asked the MD to appear before the commission on September 21 to present her side of the matter.

On August 30, the mother of the victim had lodged a complaint with the Mahila Police station alleging that her minor daughter was repeatedly gang-raped in March and April this year.
