MIO Conclave 2022: Odisha Receives 145 Investment Proposals worth Rs 7.26 Lakh Crore So Far

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has received 145 investment proposals worth over Rs 7.26 lakh crore on the first working day of third edition of Make in Odisha Conclave 2022, said State Industry Secretary Hemant Sharma.

The State Government signed 21 MoUs with various companies on the second day of the ‘Make In Odisha’ Conclave 2022.

The investment intents worth Rs 7,26,128.45 crore, if grounded, would create employment opportunities for over 3.20 lakh people, Sharma said.

The Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 was attended by country’s most prolific business leaders, such as Lakshmi Mittal, Chairman, ArcelorMittal; Anil Agarwal, Founder Chairman, Vedanta Resources; Sajjan Jindal, Chairman, JSW Group; Naveen Jindal, Chairman, Jindal Steel & Power; T V Narendran, CEO, Tata Steel; Vineet Mittal, Chairman, Avaada Energy, Karan Adani, CEO, Adani Ports & SEZ Limited and others.

Addressing the business leaders, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that Odisha is fast emerging as a major investment destination in the country. Odisha is a progressive state with clear focus on transformation in all sectors.

The CM said, “I assure you that our government will run the extra mile to make you comfortable in our state. We will walk along your side and make sure your dreams as an entrepreneur are realized. Odisha’s prosperity is interlinked with new investments. We completely understand this and therefore, we welcome you from the core of our hearts”.

“We offer you better than the best. Our new Industrial Policy provides the support and incentives which are beyond the best in the country. We are launching new policies in the sectors of Tourism, renewable energy, apparel and textile, food processing, exports and so on . We will continue to work with each one of you and understand the requirements of your sector and provide the best of support systems”, Naveen added.

Odisha is a major force in the field of mining and mineral-based industries. The State has attracted major investments in Steel and Aluminum projects and will emerge as the global hub in these sectors by the turn of this decade, the CM further stated while adding that State Government is ambitious to develop Odisha in other sectors too.
