Jajpur: In line with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision for economic empowerment of women, the Mission Shakti Department has facilitated institutional finance to 364 women self-help groups (WSHGs) in Jajpur district.
The Department in collaboration with the Jajpur administration has organized Mission Shakti Loan Melas in different blocks of the district for facilitating institutional finance to the SHGs.
As many as 364 SHGs have been provided with bank loan amounting to Rs 8.677 crore through these loan melas, it said.
The State Government had announced to provide more funds to the WSHGs to support their economic activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mission Shakti loans up to 3 lakhs can be availed at zero interest by the SHGs.
Mission Shakti has empowered more than 70 lakh women through more than 6 lakh WSHGs.
