Cuttack: Mission Shakti has facilitated institutional finance to 58 women self-help groups (WSHGs) at zero percent interest on loans upto Rs.3 lakhs in Cuttack today.
A loan mela was organized by Mission Shakti, Cuttack in collaboration with LDM, Cuttack at Mahanadi Bhawan here.
As many as 58 WSHGs were provided with bank credit linkage amount to Rs 1.62 crore, informed Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani informed.
PD, DRDA, CMC Commissioner, ADM (G), GM SLBC, LDM Cuttack, DSWO Cuttack, DPC MS, DMSC MS, APD Finance, all CDPOs, BPCs, BPAcAs, Bank Managers and WSHG Members were present on the occasson.
Notably, a special drive was initiated by Cuttack district administration in January this year where 2094 WSHGs with bank Credit Linkage amount to Rs.43.04 crore was done.
Mission Shakti, the flagship programme launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for empowerment of women has revolutionalized the rural economy. Since its inception, the scheme has empowered more than 70 lakh women through more than 6 lakh WSHGs. The positive transformation Mission Shakti has brought in Odisha has become a role model for the country today.
