MKCG MCH Nurse Selected for National Florence Nightingale Award

Berhampur: It is a proud moment for Odisha as a nurse from the state-run Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Medical College and Hospital (MKCG MCH) in Ganjam district has been selected for the National Florence Nightingale Award 2021.

Sibani Das, a nursing officer of MKCG Medical College has been selected for the highest nursing honour in the country for her dedication to the profession, particularly towards her service during the COVID-19 pandemic, as per reports.

The award has been instituted by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

The prestigious award will be given by President Ram Nath Kovind to the MKCG nurse at a function, the date for which will be decided soon, according to reports.

Fifty years old Sibani Das, who belongs to Lochapada area in Berhampur, brings with her nearly 25 years of experience as a nurse.

Prior to joining MKCG MCH in 2007, she had worked in West Bengal from 1997 to 2007.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked very hard and sincerely to support the patients. She was posted at Tata COVID Hospital at Sitalapalli.

Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange has congratulated Sibani Das for her selection for the prestigious award.
