Mo Sarkar: Big Fish Caught in Net as Odisha IAS Officer Arrested for Allegedly Taking Rs 1 Lakh Bribe

Bhubaneswar: In a major development, Director (Horticulture) Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya was arrested on Monday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in Bhubaneswar as part of zero tolerance towards corruption under ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative.

According to reports, the 2009-batch IAS officer was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe money, which he had allegedly demanded for passing a bill.

The information was received as a part of the feedback mechanism of ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative and accordingly a trap was laid.

As per the available reports, his house and other places are also being searched.

Notably, the Odisha Government has adopted zero tolerance towards corruption under Mo Sarkar initiative and acting tough against officials involved in it be it small fish like clerk or big fish like IAS, no one is being spared.

Muthukumar will be new director Horticulture.
