Cuttack: In an attempt to transform the Sriram Chandra Bhanj Medical College & Hospital (SCB Medical College) into a world class institution, Secretary Transformation and Initiatives (5T) VK Pandian today inspected the upcoming infrastructure development of the medical college and hospital here.
Pandian with his team of officers, visited the site for freeing 25 acres of land, which is under various departments. The land will be used for expansion of SCB. The acquisition of land for the purpose is expected to be completed by February end.
Some staff quarters of SCB will also be shifted to acquire land for this purpose so that the work can begin in March.
According to reports, offices and quarters of Water Resources, Skill Development and Fisheries departments will be shifted before February 28 for the work to begin.
The District Collector is likely to submit the detail proposal for acquisition of the land by today evening.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will pay a visit to the silver city tomorrow to survey the blueprint of the development plan.
Once it is given a final okay, the plan will be put to action. The work for the new complex is expected to start from March 1.
Besides, Pandian also discussed with the officials to ensure that the patients visiting SCB get good services with dignity they deserve.
