Berhampur: The Ganjam administration has decided to set up a model colony for the villagers of Podampeta, informed district Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida.
The decision was taken in the wake of recent incident of sea ingress that has reportedly washed away six houses in this coastal village in the district.
A technical expert team has been formed for setting up the model colony for the villagers.
Now, the people of the affected villages will be shifted to ODRP colony.
The district Collector informed that advance steps will be taken to protect the people of other coastal villages.
