Molecular Test for Cancer Detection Starts at AHPGIC, Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department on Thursday informed that molecular testing to detect cancer has been started at Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer, Cuttack for the benefit of cancer patients.

The facility has been started on PPP mode in parternship with Bhubaneswar based ‘In DNA Laboratory’.

The samples are collected from these institutions, tests are performed in Bhubaneswar and reports are submitted back to the institutions. The entire cost is borne by the Odisha Government through Nidan scheme, the Health Department said.

The test will be started soon at SCB MCH, MKCG MCH, VIMSAR, PRMMCH, FMMCH, BBMCH, SLNMCH, Capital Hospital & RGH in a phased manner, it added.
