Kendrapada: In a tragic incident, more than thirty persons sustained injures, eight of them seriously, when crackers placed near the Kartikeswara Melena jatra caught fire accidentally.
The incident happened yesterday night at Balia Bazaar under Sadar Police station limits. There was a fireworks competition going on between various villages on the occasion of Melana Bhasana. About 30 persons have been admitted in the SCB Medical College hospital for treatment. Eight of the injured are in the ICU.
