More Than Twenty Lakh People In Twenty Districts Affected By Recent Rains In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The incessant rains that lashed the state in the last few days have affected 20, 46, 112 people belonging to 20 districts in Odisha.

According to information released by the government, total 111 blocks from Augul, Bargarh, Balasore, Boudh, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Khordha, Koraput, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri and Subarnapur districts have been affected by the heavy rains.

While 3696 villages have been affected 27 Urban Local Bodies have been affected. District administrations have evacuated 13534 people from low laying areas to safer places. Heavy rains have damaged 2870 houses in the state in the last few days. While two Kendrapada reported two casualties due to the rains, Ganjam and Khordha have reported one death each. One person is missing in Nischintakoili Block of Cuttack district.
