Mumbai Indians Thrash DC to Lift IPL Trophy for Record Fifth Time

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians thrashed Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the final to lift the coveted IPL trophy for 5th time on Tuesday in Dubai.

Speaking to media, Ishan Kishan, one of the leading scorers for MI said, “I was not looking in good shape before the season. I had a chat with Hardik and Krunal, they asked me to improve my fitness and work on my off side batting.”

Chasing 157 to win, MI got the required runs with 8 balls to spare with a half-century from skipper Rohit Sharma. It was Rohit who led from the front with a 51-ball 68 as MI chased down the target in 18.4 overs.

Earlier Kiwi fast bowler Trent Boult (3/30) had reduced the Capitals to 22 for three with an excellent display of fast bowling.

Earlier in the first innings, Skipper Shreyas Iyer slammed unbeaten fifty to take DC to 156-7.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, DC were tottering at 22-3 in the fourth over.
