Nabarangpur, Kandhamal Emerge as Top Districts in NITI Aayog Delta Ranking In Agriculture & Water Resources

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha’s Nabarangpur and Kandhamal districts have emerged as the top performers in NITI Aayog Delta Ranking for July 2020.

The two districts found place among the most-improved aspirational districts in in NITI Aayog‘s Delta Ranking by adopting sustainable agriculture practices and efficiently managing water resources.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his happiness over the achievement of Nabarangpur and Kandhamal districts.

The CM said that development of agriculture and farmer empowerment is sustained priorities of the Odisha Government.

“With continued adoption of sustainable agriculture practices and efficient management of water resources, Nabarangpur and Kandhamal have emerged as top districts in @NITIAayog Delta Ranking. Development of agriculture and farmer empowerment are sustained priorities”, said the Office of the Chief Minister (CMO) on a Twitter post.

More than 112 aspirational districts across six developmental areas were ranked on the basis of incremental progress made in health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and basic infrastructure during February-June this year.

This programme, introduced in January 2018, aims to transform districts that have shown relatively lesser progress in key social areas and have emerged as pockets of under-development.
