Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s famous botanical garden Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) in Bhubaneswar will be reopened for the tourists tomorrow.
The zoological park, which was mostly devastated by the extremely severe cyclone storm Fani, will be reopened for the visitors from Tuesday after inspection by a technical team at the zoo, media reports stated.
The green cover of the park was severely destroyed due to the landfall made by Fani. Thousands of trees and medicinal plants were uprooted and damaged due to the strong winds in the tropical storm.
Apart from it, around 213 enclosures made for the animals at the zoo were also damaged by the Fani.
Nandankanan zoo was closed for an indefinite period in the wake of cyclone Fani that left a trail of destruction in Odisha.
