Modi Announces Lockdown Extension Till May 3rd

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today declared that the lockdown imposed in the country will be extended till May 3rd. Keeping in view the severity of the deadly disease, it is necessary to extend the lockdown period.

Announcing the extension, Modi said after April 20th there will be some lockdown relaxations in particular areas where there have less or no instances of the Coronavirus.

The government will assess the situation in all the districts and villages to ascertain the situation and categories them according to their threat of infection. The places which have the highest threat due to the virus will be identified and strict lockdown imposed.

The Prime Minister also said that after 20th April, there will be some relaxation to people in order to help the livelihood of small traders and poor people.
