Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the formation of party’s social service wing on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today.
The social service wing will primarily focus on plantation, blood donation and health assistance, said Naveen while flagging off BJD’s Jansampark Padayatra today at Kargil Basti near Bhimatangi here.
The objective of the new wing is to make Odisha clean and green, and keep the people of the state healthy, the BJD president said.
He said, “Among all activities of our party, social service is my favourite. I want the young workers of our party to join the movement and make it a powerful one.”
Naveen also urged the party workers to make people aware of the various welfare programmes of the government and 5T mantra of governance during the Jansampark Padayatra, which will continue till October 11.
