Naveen Announces Rs 15 Lakh Compensation If Working Journalist Dies of Corona

Bhubaneswar: In yet another historic decision, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen today announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the family of a working journalist if he or she dies due to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The journalists play a pivotal role in Odisha’s fight against Coronavirus by sensitizing the people about the deadly virus.

Earlier, the Odisha CM announced that healthcare workers and support staff in the state who died while fighting COVID-19 would be considered ‘martyrs’ and be accorded a state funeral as well as Rs 50 lakh ex gratia compensation for their families.
