Naveen Calls Upon Alumni to Join in Mo School Movement, Transform Odisha
Mo School Celebrates 2 Years of Its Journey
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today called upon the alumni and the larger community of Odisha to join in Mo School Movement to create a healthy eco-system in education which can help us achieve the transformational goals of Odisha.
The Chief Minister said this at a function at Lok Seva Bhawan organised for the celebration on the completion of 2 years of Mo School campaign.
The Chief Minister also released the Mo School Mobile App, a Coffee Table Book and a News Letter.
He also felicitated Amarendra Sahoo, the contributor of Mo School App. Sahoo is a leading Techno-Entrepreneur and the Co-Founder of Nestaway.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “An institution’s alumni are key to its growth. And no one is likely to be more concerned and caring for an educational institute than its former students. It is this value that led to our Mo School initiative. Its unprecedented success over the last two years has vindicated our belief”.
He said, “Mo School has made huge inroads into the collective wisdom of the people encouraging them to give back to their alma maters. I believe this movement over the years can change the face of our education system”.
“A robust and vibrant education system is the only path to development. And this can be achieved by our collective responsibility”, he said.
“The alumni have to play a greater role in this endeavour. World over, all the top global institutes have grown with support of their alumni. Take the case of MIT, or say Havard University…. These institutes are at the top of global research and education parameters. The alumni of these institutes have a significant role in their growth. In India too, no one can ignore the role of former students in the growth of IIT and IIM”, the CM further said.
“The aspirational Odisha wants to make a quantum jump in the realisation of its dreams. If you want to see a new Odisha, if you want to see an empowered Odisha, then Come. Join in the Movement– the movement to create a healthy ecosystem for education. Let’s work together to achieve the transformational foals we have dreamt for our Odisha”, Naveen said.
The CM said, “Now it’s well begun. And half the work is done. There is still a long way to go for us. Moving. forward, we need to create vibrant networks of alumnus. This can be built using technological avenues and social media. Today’s students are tomorrow’s alumni. A sense of pride needs to be instilled in our present students”.
The example of Mo School will be an ideal way of doing. so Seeing the success of Mo School, Government has also launched ‘Mo College’- A Platform for college alumni.
The Chief Minister called upon everyone to take upon the responsibility of Mo School as a duty for future generations.
