Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the officials to complete the construction of railway line between Haridaspur and Kendrapara by September this year.
Chairing a high level review meeting on the progress of Haridaspur-Kendrapara rail connectivity works at the State Secretariat here, the Chief Minister directed the Kendrapara District Administration to continue construction of the railway line at all places uninterruptedly.
Naveen expressed his satisfaction over the progress of 47 km long railway line from Haridaspur to Kendrapara.
A tower car has also made its successful trial run recently.
The Chief Minister also directed the Energy Department and OPTCL to complete the work of Kendrapara Electrical Substation by September.
The CM said that this would facilitate in running electric trains on the newly-constructed rail line on the first day of its completion.
Naveen also urged the local MP and MLAs to extend their full cooperation in this vital project.
In the review meeting, the CM also instructed to complete all the requisite preliminary works of this rail line so that it would pave path for the running of passenger train.
The completion of the railway line would fulfill the long-standing dream of the people of Kendrapara district. This would mark the first railway communication to Kendrapara district, the CM said.
