Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off the first flight under the most ambitious Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva Scheme to Malkangiri from the Biju Patnaik International Airport Bhubaneswar.
A team of specialists from SCB Medical College boarded the flight to Malkangiri today who will provide specialty treatment to patients in need. If necessitated, the critical patients will also be flown out of the districts to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for advance treatment.
The government has constituted a dedicated team of doctors including neurologists, nephrologists and cardiologists for this purpose. There are also plans to include doctors from other Medical Colleges such as from MKCG and VIMSAR. The service will be totally free for the patients.
The Air Health Service will be initially available in Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada districts and will be expanded to all districts later.
