Naveen Interacts with Party MPs and MLAs, Says People’s Voice is Supreme in Democracy

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today interacted with the Biju Janata Dal MPs, MLAs, District Presidents and Observers regarding the upcoming Urban Local Body polls in the state.

This comes just after the Party’s resounding victory in the Panchayat Polls. The Chief Minister thanked all the people of Odisha and the leaders of the party for the victory in the Panchayat Polls.

During his interaction, the Chief Minister has said that the Panchayat Poll results are astounding in the democratic history and people from all the areas of the state have blessed the party.

He also said that the people of Odisha do not believe in the negative politics of falsehood by the opposition. He advised the leaders to be beware of the misinformation of the opposition.
Advising the leaders, Naveen said, “The greatest success for us is to win the confidence of the most deprived and remotest person of the state.”

During his interaction held through virtual mode, the Chief Minister said, “This success belongs to those who went house to house to make people aware. This success is of the people of Odisha who have full faith on our governance. Finally, in a democracy, the people’s voice is supreme and the mandate has been clear and unambiguous in all the Panchayats of the state.”

“I would thank again the people of Odisha for this extraordinary victory in the Panchayat Polls. People of Odisha have reposed their faith on us. This victory has created a new record in the democratic elections. From west to coastal and from north to south, people from all the areas have blessed the Biju Janata Dal,” Naveen said.

“I thank each and every worker of the Biju Janata Dal who have made their every effort to reach out to the people of the state and made them aware about the policies of the Government”
Biju Janata Dal accepts the people’s mandate with humility and we would continue to do good work,” Naveen said.

Discussing about the Urban polls going to be held in the coming days, Naveen advised the party leaders to be cautious of the misinformation being spread by the opposition parties. He said, “The elections time has come. You all know how the opposition spread false information during the Panchayat Polls. They have spread false stories to defame my government and indulged in negative politics. But the people of Odisha have not given them importance. In the coming Urban Polls, the opposition is going to again spread false information. The duty of each and every worker of our party is to unravel the true face of the opposition misinformation.”

Explaining about the Biju Janata Dal’s principles and urban development works, Naveen said, “We believe in Positive Politics. Positive Politics, Transformative Governance and empowerment of people are our hallmarks. There have been good developmental works undertaken in the urban areas. Jaga Mission has created a benchmark for the urban poor people. Starting from Street lights to Indoor stadiums, Clean Drinking Water, Modern Waste Management Systems, new livelihoods through Mission Shakti, infrastructure and citizen services at the ward levels all have been achieved keeping in view the wellbeing of the citizens. We are working committedly to empower all starting from the people of Bastis to the Apartment owners, Mothers to children and the youth.”

The Chief Minister told the BJD leaders to take the developmental programs to the people and counter the false and misinformation of the opposition by the positive approach and good initiatives. I have full faith, as you worked hard to bring victory in the Panchayat polls, you will also continue to work for the Urban polls. We will once again achieve the people’s faith and blessings and show the opposition that false and bogus misinformation will not work in Odisha.”

Naveen said, “The meaning of politics is not power. In a democracy, people are the source of power. A person living in the remotest part of the state should believe that the Biju Janata Dal is always there working for his developmental and empowerment.”
