Bubaneswar: BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan to attend the swearing-in function of the Biju Janata Dal Government in State for the fifth consecutive time.
Besides, the regional party has invited all the newly-elected MPs and MLAs and senior leaders cutting across party lines to the swearing-in ceremony.
BJD chief Naveen Patnaik and his council of minister will take oath on May 29 at Exhibition Ground in the city amid tight security.
Similarly, leaders of farmers’ organizations, kendu leaf plucker’s organisation and intellectuals have been invited to the grand event, BJD sources said.
On Sunday, Naveen had met the Governor and staked claim to form government.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the exhibition ground for the oath taking ceremony. As many as 35 platoons of forces will be deployed for the security.
The venue will be under the close watch of CCTV cameras, said police commissioner Satyajit Mohanty who will oversee the security system.
The ground will have five entry points for VVIPs, ministers, MPs and MLAs, he added.
Naveen led Biju Janata Dal won a landslide victory in the recent assembly elections. The party won 112 seats out of the 146 seats that went for polls.
