Naveen Lauds Hard Work of Odisha Police during Lockdown, Says People at Large Saw a ‘Human Face’ in Police Actions

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today lauded the hard work of the Police department in the last three months for creating awareness among the people and enforcing lockdown.

Interacting with the senior police officials, DIGs, DCPs and SPs of various districts through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said, “I would like to appreciate all of you for the hard work you and your teams have put in the last 3 months for creating awareness amongst people and enforcing Lockdown”.

“I must mention here that there was so much restrain and dignified conduct in the whole process”, the CM said.

Naveen also expressed his happiness for the successfully implementation of his appeal ‘Zero walking inside Odisha’ for interstate migrants in letter and spirit because of systematic and coordinated hard work.

The CM also appreciated the good work done by ODRAF & FIRE in relief and restoration operations in West Bengal after Super Cyclone Amphan.

He said, “I would like to mention here that inspite of the threat of Coronavirus, our ODRAF and Fire personnel faced the situation boldly and helped people in distress in Kolkata. Your service will be an inspiration for others and the entire country has appreciated the work done”.

“People at large saw a ‘’HUMAN FACE’’ in police actions. We should carry forward this good work. The Corona war is not yet over. We should be very alert and face the situation even more professionally at the same time with human face”, he said.

The Police should try and rationalise available manpower, he added.

The Chief Minister also urged the D.G. to prepare an action plan to make more and more manpower available at the police station level. This may be done within a fortnight with proper planning.
