New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today met Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at Rastrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
The Chief Minister apprised the President about the damages caused by Cyclone Fani that hit Odisha on May 3.
Earlier in the day, Naveen met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought financial assistance of Rs 5,000 crore and 5 lakh pucca houses for the cyclone Fani affected people.
The CM also urged upon the Prime Minister to include ‘Natural Calamity’ as an indicator to accord Special Category Status to Odisha, which will supplement the State’s efforts for inclusive growth and development.
Naveen also requested PM Modi for Special Category Status for Odisha and revision of coal royalty.
