Bhubaneswar: First it was ABP- C Voter survey and now it is Mood of The Nation survey conducted by the India Today group that has adjudged Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as the best performing CM in the country.
In its latest Mood of The Nation Survey, as many as 51 per cent respondents from the state rated Naveen as the best performing Chief Minister.
Arvind Kejriwal is second on the list with 41 per cent votes followed by Yogi Adityanath (39%), Maharashtra’s Uddhav Thackeray (35%) and Telangana’s K Chandrashekar Rao (35%).
“Patnaik, the third CM to win five consecutive terms, has maintained the image of a “clean and honest” politician while staying away from national limelight and focusing on state affairs”, India Today mentions in its report.
Patnaik’s social welfare schemes have become instant hit and this led to his popularity going up. According to the magazine, Patnaik has raised the Odia identity issue to counter the BJP’s Hindutva politics.
