Naveen Pays Humble Tributes to First Odia Speaker of Lok Sabha Rabi Ray on Birth Anniversary

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today paid his humble tributes to first Odia Speaker of Lok Sabha and Gandhian mass leader Rabi Ray on his birth anniversary.

As a Speaker, Rabi Ray will always be remembered for his contribution to the field of literature and social service, as well as to the spread of Gandhian ideology, the Chief Minister said.

Born on this day in 1926, Rabi Ray was an Indian socialist politician and a Gandhian.

He was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the 9th Lok Sabha to become the first Odia to hold prestigious constitutional post.

Ray, who was empowered with an inherent simplicity and integrity, added to the prestige and dignity of the office of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha through his unbiased approach.
