Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid his humble tributes to legendary singer Akshaya Mohanty on his birth anniversary today.
The Chief Minister said that Akshaya Mohanty’s contribution to the field of Odia music will always be remembered.
The legendary singer occupies a special place in the hearts of music lovers because of his unique style of music composition and presentation, Naveen tweeted.

Born on October 12, 1934 in Bankimundai village of undivided Cuttack district (Kendrapara now), Mohanty had contributed immensely to the field of Odia Bhajans, Odissi songs, folk songs, film and non-film modern light songs in Odisha.
Mohanty gave music in as many as 75 films apart from his contribution to radio. Some of the notable films are – Mala Janha, Kie Kahar, Sansara, Naga Phasa, Taapoi, Jhili Mili, Nijhum Ratira Sathi, Shree Jagannath, Kie Jite Kie Hare, Ashanta Graha, Mahasati Sabitree, Swapna Sagar, Danda Balunga, and Jai Phula etc.
