“Extreme weather events frequent Odisha every year threatening life and livelihood of millions. The United Nations General Assembly has designated October 13th as the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction to promote a global culture of disaster risk reduction.
Odisha is a model state in disaster preparedness and risk mitigation. It has set global benchmarks in disaster management after successfully handling several natural calamities in recent year.
