Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik remembered great freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his birth anniversary, calling him an ardent supporter of Swadeshi Movement and strongest proponent of Swaraj.

He will always remain in our hearts for his contribution to free us from shackles of British rule”, the Odisha CM tweeted.

Born on July 23, 1856, in Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri, Lokmanya Tilak was a staunch supporter of Swarajya during the freedom movement. Tilak worked closely with many Indian National Congress leaders during the freedom movement. The trio of Lokmanya Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai and Bipin Chandra Pal was famously called as ‘Lal Bal Pal’.
