Naveen Talks to Karnataka, Andhra CMs for Safe Return of Stranded Odias

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today discussed the issue of stranded Odia people in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh with his counterparts BS Yediyurappa and Y S Jagan and requested about their safe return to the State.

During the meeting held through video conferencing, the Odisha CM sought cooperation from the both the Governments for smooth return of Odia people including migrant workers, professionals, students, pilgrims, tourists and other persons who are stranded there due to the nationwide lockdown to fight COVID-19.

Naveen thanked both the Chief Ministers for taking care of Odia people stranded in his State. During the discussion, Yediyurappa assured his Odisha counterpart to extend all cooperation for the return of the stranded people. Jagan has also assured to help in the safe return of the stranded people.

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan also participated in the video conference.

Continuing his efforts for the smooth and dignified return of stranded Odia people to their home State, Naveen Patnaik is reaching out to the Chief Ministers of other States.

Earlier, the Odisha CM had talked to his counterparts in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu on the issue of safe return of stranded Odia people.
