Naveen Tastes Koraput Strawberry

Koraput: With the proactive measures adopted by the Odisha Government, strawberry farming is poised to transform the lives of tribal farmers in Koraput district.

The tribal farmers got a good morale boost when Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tasted the strawberries cultivated by them.

During his recent visit to Koraput district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ate the strawberry.

An image of CM enjoying the Koraput strawberry is being widely shared in social media.

Naveen, who has instructed the administration to give special focus for the promotion of strawberry farming in this beautiful hilly district, is seen quite contended after tasting the strawberry.

“Pleasure to taste the strawberries grown by farmers of KOTIA. May our farmers script sweet success ahead”, the CM said.

The Chief Minister also commended Koraput Collector Abdaal M. Akhtar and district administration for empowering the farmers in such innovative ways.

As per the Koraput district administration, the strawberry cultivation was started in one village – Doliamba village of Kotia GP over 5 acres land last year. Following the success, the strawberry farming has been expanded to three more villages of GP covering 30 acres with the support of ITDA Koraput.

Currently, the strawberries made by the farmers are being marketed locally. The district administration has initiated efforts to help the farmers to sell their strawberries in Bhubaneswar, informed Koraput Collector Abdaal M. Akhtar.
