Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today thanked members of women self-help group (WSHG) from Ganjam for their contribution towards rebuilding the Fani-ravaged Odisha.
The WSHG members donated Rs 3,41,910 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for relief and restoration work in the cyclone affected areas in the State.
The members collected money as per their capacity and contributed towards the CMRF for rebuilding the State, said Collector and District Magistrate Vijay Amruta Kulange.
Thanking the WSHG members, the Chief Minister said that their contribution towards the rebuilding process is acknowledged with deep gratitude.
In a letter to DRDA Ganjam, the Chief Minister said, “The people of Odisha have shown tremendous resilience in the face of this challenge. The task to rebuild our State is a shared responsibility. Your contribution towards this rebuilding process is acknowledged with deep gratitude”.
In these difficult times when cyclone Fani has struck Odisha, more than 14,000 villages in 11 districts and one crore people have been affected. The loss of public property has also been immense, the CM said.
Notably, the Ganjam District administration has came forward generously with financial contribution for rebuilding the cyclone Fani-ravaged Odisha.
The district administration has so far donated Rs 71 lakh from contributions from government employees towards the CMRF.
