Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has urged all the people of Odisha to join in the campaign against Corruption on the occasion of the Vigilance week. He has asked all to observe the Vigilance Awareness Week and join the anti-corruption campaign in a determined and dedicated way for building a better society.
In a message, Naveen has said “ On the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week -2021, I appeal to the people of Odisha to come forward to join the fight against corruption and participate in the anti-corruption campaign to build an ideal society. Corruption continues to be a major impediment to growth and development. It distorts resource allocation and deprives the poor and weaker sections of society from reaping the benefits of various development and welfare programmes undertaken by the Government. It thereby undermines good governance, social cohesion, individual dignity and entitlements.
“Transparency and zero tolerance to corruption are the two major planks of my Government. I take this occasion to appeal to all sections of society to actively work towards prevention and detection of corruption and extend their whole-hearted support to the anti-corruption efforts of my Government. I also take this occasion to congratulate Odisha Vigilance for its commendable performance in combating corruption in public life and hope that it will further intensify its anti-corruption drive in the service of the people.”
“I also call upon all public servants to reaffirm their commitment to maintain the highest standards of probity and integrity and serve the people in the true spirit of service. ‘ The battle against corruption is a long drawn out one and its success depends upon willing participation and collective effort of all stakeholders. Let us, therefore, work together wholeheartedly to eradicate corruption for the holistic development and benefit of the people of Odisha.”
Odisha Vigilance Department has also urged all to join hands in the fight against corruption in public life and to take the Integrity Pledge.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been in the forefront in the fight against corruption with his zero tolerance directive. The 5T initiatives of Odisha Government is transforming the governance and ensuring zero corruption in public life and strict action against the corrupt.
