Brajrajnagar: Riding on the popularity of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his transformative initiatives, the ruling Biju Janata Dal continues to maintain its winning streak in the elections in Odisha.
The BJD has registered an overwhelming victory in the Brajrajnagar by-poll to retain the prestigious Assembly seat in Jharsuguda district .
BJD candidate Alaka Mohanty defeated her nearest rivals BJP’s Radharani Panda and Congress nominee Kishore Patel in a triangular battle.
While the BJD got 93,790 votes, the BJP received 22316 votes and Congress 27,565 votes in the by-poll.
With this victory, the BJD has once again shown its dominance in the political landscape of Odisha by winning all by-elections held after the 2019 general elections.
The charismatic leadership of Naveen Patnaik and his people-centric transformative initiatives has played a decisive role in BJD’s emphatic victory in the Brajrajnagar by-poll, voting for which was held on May 31 and registered 71.90 % voter turnout.
The results also reaffirmed that Naveen remains the all-time favorite and the people of the State.
