Bhubaneswar: Odisha Crime Branch ADG Sanjeeb Panda has said that a Nigerian Gang is involved in the Cycber fraud through hacking of WhatsApp belonging to Manoj Pattnaik, CEO of OCAC. The Crime Branch has gathered evidence in the case and is in constant touch with Bengaluru and Delhi Police in this regard. The mastermind is said have been arrested earlier by Delhi Police.
Speaking to Media, Panda said, a similar case was reported in New Delhi earlier on 1st November in which the main accused Chimelum Emmanuel Aniwetalu alias Maurice Degri, a Nigerian national was arrested. His associate is believed to be behind the hacking of Manoj Pattnaik’s Whattsapp and cyber fraud of Rs 7 lakh rupees. The hacker had collected money from the Whattsapp contacts of Manoj Oatnaik and transferred the amount to various bank accounts before they were frozen by the authorities.
