Mumbai: Absconding businessman and main accused in PNB fraud Nirav Modi has been declared a fugitive economic offender under the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act by the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act ( PMLA) court on Thursday.
He is the second businessman after Vijay Mallya to be declared a fugitive economic offender.
Modi and several others are accused in the Rs 13,000 Punjab National Bank scam case.
He was arrested this March in London and is currently in judicial custody there.
