Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided not to increase the retail electricity tariff for the financial year 2024-25.
This has been informed by the Energy Department.
In its ARR Proposal for FY 24-25 in a hearing before Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) today, GRIDCO showed its commitment to procure power to meet uninterrupted energy demand of the State for FY 24-25.
The projected cost was also submitted for procurement of power to meet increased demand of the State.
GRIDCO submitted that there is no need of increase in retail tariff.
The rise in power cost in BSP can be absorbed through amortization of regulatory surplus available with DISCOMs and additional Revenue due to increased demand.
