Bhubaneswar: The Omicron situation in Odisha is under control. Hence, there is no need to impose restrictions like night curfew or lockdown in the State as of now, informed Odisha Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra.
Talking to media, Mishra said that considering the prevailing situation, there is no need to impose lockdown or night curfew in the State.
Even though Omicron cases are rising across the country, Odisha is in a better positon in comparison to the other Sates, the health official informed.
Among the foreign returnees, only eight have tested positive for Omicron variant. However, the situation is under control, he added.
Meanwhile, the Odisha Government is planning to vaccinate around 25.53 lakh minors in the age group of 15 to18 years. Besides the children, people above 60 years of age will be vaccinated with a Precautionary (Booster) dose, said an official.
