Bhubaneswar: The Nua O Scholarships announced by the Odisha Government for Degree and PG students will be distributed from today. The scholarships will be distributed at special programs being held at Sambalpur, Deogarh and Angul districts.
The state government had announced to provide scholarships to the Plus Three and PG students under the Nutana Unnata Abhilasha (NUA) Odisha scholarship scheme for students studying Graduate and Post-graduate courses. As per information, the male students will be given Rs 9,000 per year and female students will be given Rs 10,000. Also, male students from SC/ST and Nirman Shramik families will receive Rs 10,000 as scholarships. Girl students in these categories will be given Rs 11,000 as scholarship. 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian had announced the decision of the Chief Minister about the scholarship initiative few days back. While around 4.5 lakh students will get this new scholarship, about 35,000 PG students will also get this scholarship. This scholarship will be given every year. The scholarship money will go directly into the accounts of the students.
