Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Pradeep Kumar Rath, Additional Chief Engineer, Odisha Bridge And Construction Corporation (OBCC) in a disproportionate assets case.
The OBCC engineer was found to have amassed disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees, which was unearthed during simultaneous searches conducted at 12 locations linked to him.
Apart from the disproportionate assets including 42 plots unearthed on Monday, the Vigilance officials also traced three more plots owned by Rath in Dhenkanal district worth around Rs 1 crore.
According the Vigilance, Rath was found to be possessing of disproportionate assets including two multi-storied buildings, two high-value flats in Bhubaneswar, 45 plots (3 plots worth around Rs 1 crore), a medicine store, a stone crusher unit registered in his and his family members’ names. Gold weighing 1 kg, deposits over Rs 1.62 crore, two four-wheelers, two JCBs, one Excavator, one rock breaker etc, were unearthed during the searches.
