OCAC, Commissionerate Police Ink MoU to Conduct Cyber Security Awareness Programmes in Educational Institutions in Twin Cities

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), a Technical Directorate of Electronics & Information Technology (E&IT) Department, Government of Odisha and Commissionerate Police have inked an MoU to conduct cyber security awareness programmes in educational institutions in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The MoU was signed between Principal Secretary of E&IT Department Manoj Kumar Mishra and Commissioner of Police Saumendra Priyadarshi in presence of other officials.

The awareness programme will be conducted in schools and colleges in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The programme will provide students required information to protect themselves from cyber crimes.

Cyber Security is a huge challenge for all in present times. Each person made aware, can lead to one less vulnerable family, said the E&IT Principal Secretary.

Commissioner of police Saumendra Priyadarshi and deputy commissioner Prateek Singh said the OCAC will help the police in preparing the contents for the awareness campaigns in educational institutions.

As per MoU, the OCAC will arrange a hackathon on cyber security for the students. It will also develop a cyber security awareness portal for dissemination of latest news on cyber threats and preventive measures.
