Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is planning to start ‘Mo Collage’ programme, similar to that of Mo School drive, for the development of colleges across the State.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the Mo School campaign on November 14, 2017 on the occasion of Children’s Day in response to philanthropic interest from alumni of schools residing in India and abroad.
The Mo School campaign aims to create a platform for former students and people to connect, collaborate and contribute to revamping the government and government-aided schools. It provides a platform where former students connect to their childhood memory and be a part of the change they want to see in their schools.
Now the State Government is planning to launch ‘Mo College’ campaign in the line of Mo School drive, informed Odisha Higher Education Minister.
The guardians as well as the alumni will be roped in for strengthening the higher education system with their active participation in the proposed programme, the Minister said.
Currently, Odisha has 52 government degree colleges, eight model degree colleges. Six more model degree colleges will be set up soon at Bolangir, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Koraput and Gajapati district under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), he said.
