Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal Rajya Sabha member and National Spokesperson Dr Sasmit Patra has been included in the reconstituted Panel of Vice Chairmen. Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu today reconstituted the panel of Vice Chairmen. Others included in the Panel include Bhubaneswar Kalita, Indu Bala Goswami, Dr L Hanumanthaiah, Tiruchi Siva, and V Vijayasai Reddy.
This is the second time that Dr Sasmit has been included in the Panel of Vice Chairmen in the Upper House. He was first nominated to the Panel in 2020. His handling of the affairs of the House as a member of the Panel of Vice Chairmen has been appreciated by all irrespective of party lines. In 2020 he became the first Odia to get that position in two decades.
