Cuttack: In a significant development, the Orissa High Court today directed the State Government to bring the stranded Odias from other States only after conducting test for COVID-19.

Those persons tested negative can enter into the State, the High Court said.

The person has to undergo RT/PCR testing in that State where the person is currently staying before coming to Odisha.

The testing expenditure, however, to be paid by the State Government.

The court’s directive came on a PIL filed questioning the rush of stranded Odia people to the State without COVID-19 screening.

The person has to undergo RT/PCR testing in that State where the person is currently staying before coming to Odisha.

The total positive cases in the state stand at 206 including 142 active cases.

Today Odisha record a single day highest spike with 21 positive cases.
