Bhubaneswar: In a bid to bring the police more nearer to the common man and ensure quality and prompt policing services including good behaviour and transparency to the people at the police stations across the state, Odisa Police today organised a workshop on “Mo Sarkar” at the camp office of the DGP here in the capital city.
Inaugurating the workshop, Director General of Police Vijay Kumar Sharma said, from now onwards the general public will give ratings to the performance of the police officers on various parameters like behaviour of the police officers towards the complainant, and how far they are satisfied on the inquiry of the investigating officers.
As part of the Mo Sarkar initiative of the Government, a call will go to every complainant from the Odisha Police Call Centre and five questions will be asked on the behaviour of the police officer, ability of the officer, and questions related to the inquiry of the case will be asked. Each question carries marks ranging from 1 to 5 and the complainant will give marks according to his/her satisfaction.
Besides, a complainant can also now lodge the First Information Report (FIR) online, said, Sharma. Two police officers from each district are attending the workshop. Based on the 5-T model of governance, the ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme will be implemented from Gandhi Jayanti this year. All police stations will be covered under the programme in the first phase. In next phase, all departments will implement the programme by March 5, 2020.
